Monsoon S/S 2010

Love the tribal pattern, especially because it's such an organic colour (contrasting perfectly with the brightly coloured parrot!)

The bold and cimetrical pattern of the dress on the right contrasts perfectly to the fitted shape.

Adore the flags!

Given the chance, I would so wear this dress on a desert island where I can watch the vibrant sunset and paddle in the crystal clear ocean.

The gorgeous dress contrasts perfectly against the tassled Angelina jacket.

Adore the dress on the left.

This pic was printed crystal clear, but I think I moved my camera at the last minute, and the effect was kinda cool.

This dress is absoulutely to die for. Love how it's stunningly white and fresh, verging on Greek Goddess, with the beaded boddice adding a clever bohemian twist.

I want! Enough said.

I am in love with this entire collection! Okay, it's not necessarily my style, maxi dresses, etc. but the patterns totally make up for that. It's full to the brim with tribal looking patterns, that bohemian-esque drape of the fabric, bold colours and an assortment of bangles that only Monsoon could pull off with such ease.

Alexander McQueen

Yes, I am incredibly late with a tribute to McQueen, but better late than never, right? Plus, I'm just reminding everyone who is on the verge of forgetting about the genius the fashion world has lost.
These are pictures of his last ever collection. Ok, his ideas are totally beserk and pretty far out, but you have to admit, he had an incredibly inventive and wacky imagination. Look at the prints on these items, think how much thought went into that. And the perfectly sculpted silhouette, these pieces are absoulute works of art.

By far my favourite pic of him!
RIP Alexander McQueen

Chanel, Prada and Claudia

Claudia Schiffer modelling for Chanel in their fall 2008 campaign. Loving the simplicity of it - especially the black and white effect.

No idea what the purpose of this picture is, but I love it all the same!

Bonnie Wright (who, incase you have been living under a rock for several years, plays Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter movies) in Prada at this years Bafta awards.

Kate Moss

If she didn't drink or smoke so much, Kate Moss could still look like this.

Bits & Pieces

Loving this pic of D&G make-up for the S/S runway. Perfectly sculpted velvet red lips. Apparently, lilac eyeshadow is in. Not sure that's a trend I'll be following, but it looks pretty mega here.

Model Abbey Lee. Heart her fringe!

Heels inspired by melting candle wax. Not sure who they're by, but they're genius.

Love the tough leather jacket against the floral dress.

And the punky hair style. Suggests Agyness Deyn bleached blonde look.
Just signed up to Polyvore.com and am doing my best to get to grips with it!

Emma Watson

Emma in a vintage gown for the premiere of 'Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince'. Stunning! This is one of my favourite outfits I've seen her wear.
^A Snap from Emma's shoot for Elle magazine 2009

Emma for Vogue Italia's September 2008 issue
(continued downwards)

Wow. She just looks so classicly beautiful hear. She looks absoulutely stunning with this make-up palette.

Teen Vogue shoot 2009.

Awesome tights!

My fave shot out of this shoot.

Emma in 'Ballet Shoes'

I watched 'Ballet Shoes' yesterday with my sis. Pretty average movie in my opinion, but Emma Watson stars in it, so what's not to love? As a result I have decided to do an Emma Watson post as she is a person that I find very inspiring. Seemingly down to earth, dedicated and of course, a style icon.

Three Designers

I am in love with this Alexander Wang slit sweater. He is so clever! Look at the colour, the fabric. Seemingly ordinary. But then look what he does to the sleeves. Genius!

Alexander Wang's S/S 2010 show. I think he nailed the whole underwear as outwear trend down to perfection. I actually think his designs concerning this trend have been most successful.

Alexander Wang again. He sent every model down the runway with the must have hair look of the season; the bead headed pleat. Gorgeous. Brought to runways by the inventive Paul Guido, the so called "Prada of the hair world", due to his wacky style.

Camilla & Marc's take on the LBD. Tres successful, non? Corset style boddice, transparent sheen and big shoulders. How many trends have they ticked off here?

Another look of Alexa's j'adore. Casual, with a reasonably oversized sweater which contrasts nicely against the super tight skinnines. Need I say anything about the shoes?! Too bad she's not wearing Wang's slit sleeved sweater. Perhaps some DIY?

Chanel's S/S 2010 tea dress vs. Alexa's take on it. I know which look I prefer, but of course, I'm probably partially bias. Not to mention the fact I am NOT a fan of the clog trend!

Solve Sundsbo

Solve Sundsbo is a Norwegian photographer who's style is completely undefined. In my opinion, it's bizarre but totally eye-catching. He completely transforms every image into something interesting and different. When asked whether he considered himself to possess a certain style he said, "If I've got a style, it's that I've got no style". He combines and incoperates everything from X-rays, 3D scanning, hi tech manipulation and laborious hand-painted retouching. His portfolio includes shoots for Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Gucci, Hermes, Bally and Armani. He has recently been described as 'fashion photography's hottest new star'!

These are some of my favourite photos by Sundsbo. I love how he combines contrasting colours to create an exciting and slightly bizarre look. I think his use of shadow to create pattern is genius! And I love the yellow lipstick - and, of course the smoky red lips, which for some reason I'm reminded of a vampires when I look at that image!
