Just Because

The Mui Mui Kenzo Show [continued above & below]. Love the ample layering, subtle trilbys, mixture of patterns, socks with heels and worn leather bags.

My favoutire piece from the Cacharel show. Love the clashing of patterns separated only by a skinny black belt that complements the oversized cardy perfectly. Coupled with the super sleek tailoring, this piece looks like it walked right out of the 1950s.

Sadly, I don't know the date of this Elle spread [as seen above and below] but I love the tribal layering of mixed materials, with the subtly authentic backgrounds.

So want a camera like this, and how better accessorised than in Chanel?

Chanel, as always, is pure genius. This is my new dream bag!

Three Designers

I am in love with this Alexander Wang slit sweater. He is so clever! Look at the colour, the fabric. Seemingly ordinary. But then look what he does to the sleeves. Genius!

Alexander Wang's S/S 2010 show. I think he nailed the whole underwear as outwear trend down to perfection. I actually think his designs concerning this trend have been most successful.

Alexander Wang again. He sent every model down the runway with the must have hair look of the season; the bead headed pleat. Gorgeous. Brought to runways by the inventive Paul Guido, the so called "Prada of the hair world", due to his wacky style.

Camilla & Marc's take on the LBD. Tres successful, non? Corset style boddice, transparent sheen and big shoulders. How many trends have they ticked off here?

Another look of Alexa's j'adore. Casual, with a reasonably oversized sweater which contrasts nicely against the super tight skinnines. Need I say anything about the shoes?! Too bad she's not wearing Wang's slit sleeved sweater. Perhaps some DIY?

Chanel's S/S 2010 tea dress vs. Alexa's take on it. I know which look I prefer, but of course, I'm probably partially bias. Not to mention the fact I am NOT a fan of the clog trend!

Chanel A/W 2010

How beserk yet utterly genius is this?! Karl Lagerfeld decided to ship in a 240-tonne bona fide iceberg from Scandanavia for Chanel's A/W 2010 show. Not only that, over the course of six days, 35 ice skulptors from around the world were hired to skulpt it & the highest point reached 8.5 metres tall! There was also a thin sheen of water on the runway to enable stunning reflections.

Gosh, I wish I'd been able to watch it. Imagine how amazing that would have been? It must have just blown the audience away! And guess what else? He only used fake fur, telling reporters backstage that "Fake is not chic, but fake fur is". I couldn't agree more! Plus, by incooperating both fake fur & melting icebergs into his show, lets hope it sends out the right message about how crucial it's becoming that we protect our environment. Only a fashion genius like Karl could could combine both fashion & global warming together in such a fascinating way. Coco Chanel would be proud!

It Girl Alexa Chung

Loving the quirky take on this girly Chanel tea dress. The toussled hair & beige Chanel bag are the perfect accessories, not to mention the little black pendant around her neck. This look is too adorable!
I love, love, LOVE these shoes! Yet again, Alexa has opted for Chanel, but how clever has she been pairing these beauties with skinny jeans & an on trend checked shirt. A chic twist to an outerwise cash outfit. And just think what you can wear with those shoes?! Am I jealous? I think so!

I am jealous. Again. These YSL rings are absoulutely to die for & I am hoping to evetually get one (I have not yet decided what colour I would opt for if I was in the fortunate situation of being able to possess one, but this coloured stone is v. tempting). And how perfect does this match her mint Chanel nailpolish? She completely transforms yet another simple outfit with her unique take on the accessories front.
