Trip to India

Tourists wearing the traditional headdress, which made me smile.
Adaption of Indian fashion.

We were lucky enough to see a tiger!! My fave animal btw, so you can probably guess I was beside myself with excitement!

Funny monkey, he jumped right onto the bus next to me!

The Taj Mahal. I have never seen anything as beautiful in a way like this.

Sorry for the serious lack of posts recently. I went to India for the Easter hols, which was absoulutely amazing. It really is a stunning country; there's so much colour - especially when you look at the vibrant saris and salwar kameez.
I'm not quite sure what I was expecting, but it made a real impression on me, especially with so many different cultures. There were plenty of fresh fruit and veg stalls at the side of the road, all lined up beside each other. Vivid sunsets that made the Taj Mahal glisten, cheeky monkeys that stuck their tongues out, rich textiles, embellished silver, shining stones, intricate and elaborate carving that took years to finish, and the people, who were all so friendly.
Yes, there was evidently a lot of poverty, but despite that you could tell people were coping - to an extent; trying to enjoy their lives with what little they had. It really was amazing, and something that I will never forget.

PS. I know this is supposedly a fashion blog, but I'm allowed to break the rules occasionly.

The Runways

Above are some shots from the new 70s based movie starring Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stuart. I'm not Kristen's biggest fan to be honest, but apparently they're receiving raving reviews for playing the 70s rock legends Joan Jett and Cherie Currie. And how retro are these outfits? Judging by these pics, this movie's going to be a fashion must see!

Today's 70s fashionista, Taylor Momsen, rocking an oversized checked boyfriend shirt and distressed denim shorts, coupled with chipped black nailpolish & classic Rayban sunnies. Not to mention the bleached blonde locks, a la Cherie Currie. Sometimes Taylor can get it seriously wrong, but in this case, could a girl BE anymore rock 'n' roll?!

Just Because

The Mui Mui Kenzo Show [continued above & below]. Love the ample layering, subtle trilbys, mixture of patterns, socks with heels and worn leather bags.

My favoutire piece from the Cacharel show. Love the clashing of patterns separated only by a skinny black belt that complements the oversized cardy perfectly. Coupled with the super sleek tailoring, this piece looks like it walked right out of the 1950s.

Sadly, I don't know the date of this Elle spread [as seen above and below] but I love the tribal layering of mixed materials, with the subtly authentic backgrounds.

So want a camera like this, and how better accessorised than in Chanel?

Chanel, as always, is pure genius. This is my new dream bag!
