So with Catherine Middleton and Lily Allen having already tied the knot this year, with Kate Moss and the Princess of Monaco due to do so this Friday and Bella when 'Breaking Dawn Part 1' is released, it's kind of hard not to feel infected by all the hype surrounding these weddings. It has been confirmed Kate Moss will be in John Galliano (typically the rebel, despite the fashion world shunning Galliano following his racist outburst, Kate remains a loyal friend and customer). It has also been confirmed that Bella will wed wearing Carolina Herrera and of course we know Lily Allen wore Karl Lagerfeld and Catherine Middleton McQueen.
Above are images that I think originate from the 1940s (I am not 100% sure of this). I think they are old Vogue classics and the third image is quite an iconic one. The final picture is to emphasise the importance of the back of the dress, as many designs do not take this into account. As proved by Kate Middleton however, the back is one of the most photographed parts of the dress and is a vital part of the wedding dress. Somehow, the above dresses don't look like a meringue, despite the fact they should. I think it's just the fact they suited the time and wedding dresses have evolved since then. Loving the green elbow length gloves (second pic), the swarms of fabric and the gorgeous hair styles.
